Welcome to Heroes' Mile Veteran Recovery Center

For Veterans By Veterans

Heroes’ Mile is an addiction recovery center located in Longview, Texas. With a specialized focus on the treatment of veteran substance abuse, we are uniquely qualified to attend to veterans suffering from addiction and substance use disorders.

Each level of care at Heroes’ Mile Texas is trauma-informed. This means that we use a holistic form of addiction treatment that takes the personal experiences of each servicemember into account, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), military sexual trauma (MST), depression, or any other mental health challenges commonly associated with military service.

The mission of our veteran substance abuse program is to encourage post-traumatic growth in the veteran rehabilitation process by guiding individuals from self-defeating thinking and behaviors to a higher level of social, emotional, and moral awareness. We accomplish this by giving our clients the support needed to assess personal trauma and to analyze the reasons for addiction.

The intended result of this process are individuals who are better equipped to handle the difficulties associated with service-related stress without depending on substances to cope.

Addiction Treatment Levels of Care at Our Texas Rehab

From detox in a supportive environment to inpatient rehabilitation treatment, we provide varying levels of addiction therapies to accommodate different levels of need. At Heroes’ Mile Texas we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to substance use disorders, and we are prepared to meet you wherever you are at in your recovery journey.

Below are the primary types of substance abuse treatment provided in our Texas rehab:

  • INPATIENT DETOXIFICATION — In our drug and alcohol detox program, we provide personalized, compassionate care while the body recovers from substance abuse. In order to ensure the safety of our patients, the detox process takes place under medical supervision.
  • RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT — In our residential rehab program, veterans participate in a wide range of programs and activities that support recovery and life after addiction treatment. These may include individual or group therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, and recreational and other complementary therapies

Veterans Serving Veterans

At our Texas rehabilitation center, we choose to focus on veteran substance abuse because we have a long history of working with those suffering from addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our staff recognizes the impact that post-traumatic stress and military-sexual trauma can have on addiction and we take these details into consideration when constructing a recovery plan.

Remember, you are not alone when it comes to facing your addiction and invisible wounds of war. Contact us today at 1-903-291-3456 or fill out our confidential form to take the first step towards recovery.

  • I’ve been to 7 other tx centers in my recovery so far. This has been the best experience yet comparable to a lockdown facility in Tampa. Very polite and professional nursing, recovery assistant, counseling, admissions and culinary staff. Great food, most staff is either veteran or has an immediate family member that is a vet. Also most are in recovery themselves. Both of these being critical for the veterans in recovery helping vets in recovery methodology used. As a Navy FMF Corpsman I appreciated this approach to medical care. I felt cared for as a human being. I relearned and reemphasized all of my previous 12 step knowledge. I regained contact with my sponsor. Overall I feel this time is different than my previous attempts. I feel better about looking my peers in the eye and I’m very looking forward to applying this renewed skill and passion to my reclaimed life. I wish you all the best and stop trying & neither will I.
